At RemeVerse, we believe skincare is more than surface-deep; it’s comfort, healing, and strength, especially during life’s most difficult moments. That belief became deeply personal in 2021 when our co-founder, Lois Elliott, was diagnosed with breast cancer. What followed wasn’t just a journey of healing, it was the beginning of a mission: to create skincare and haircare products specifically designed to support others going through chemotherapy and radiation.
This is Lois’s story, in her own words.
“I’m a Cancer Survivor.”
I’m going to start this story by telling you the ending first: I am a cancer survivor! I am healthy, strong, and with God’s grace, I’m still here.
Now, let me take you back to the beginning.
A Summer That Changed Everything
In the summer of 2021, I found a lump in my breast and immediately went in for evaluation. Within days, the diagnosis came: breast cancer. Like so many others, I was stunned. And like many, I was told I would need surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation.
After the initial shock—and a good, hard cry—my husband, Jim, and I got to work. We sought out the best treatment plan we could find, landing at a well-respected cancer facility. My surgery was scheduled, then came physical therapy, and soon, it was time to prepare for chemo.

Facing Chemo With Determination
My oncology team laid out the path forward: a mix of medications and side effects. I was told I would lose my hair and should prepare by shaving my head. I was also advised to stay hydrated and keep my skin well-moisturized during treatment.
But if you know me, you know I’m nothing if not determined. There were so many things I couldn’t control about this diagnosis, but I was determined to protect my skin and hair, both for my physical comfort and my emotional well-being.
Jim and I own RemeVerse, the laboratory that develops our anti-aging skincare and haircare line. And so, I asked our team: What can we do to protect my skin and hair during this journey?
Skincare with Purpose: The Birth of the Chemo Care Kit

With our lab’s help, we researched the effects of chemotherapy. We discovered that not all chemo patients lose their hair, and that certain antioxidants can interfere with treatment. So, our lab formulated safe, effective products just for me, ones that would nourish without interfering with my care.
We created:
- Protect & Defend Facial Moisturizer
- Protect & Defend Hand & Body Treatment
- Protect & Defend Hair Treatment
I used these daily, along with a cold cap during chemo. I became the first test subject, and this kit became my armor.
👉 Today, you’ll find all of these in the RemeVerse Chemo Care Kit.
Radiation Required a New Solution

After chemo, I underwent 30 radiation treatments. Once again, I was told to keep the area moisturized, but without antioxidants this time.
So, our lab formulated a second product:
Radiation Relief & Recovery Cream — free of antioxidants but rich in collagen, peptides, and calendula to soothe and support healing.
The feedback was incredible. My radiation nurses were amazed by the condition of my skin. In fact, some centers now recommend this product to their patients.

My Results—and My Mission
- After 3 months of chemo, my hair thinned, but I never had bald spots. I never needed a wig or scarf.
- After 30 radiation sessions, the treated area healed faster than expected.
- Today, I’m cancer-free.
What began as a personal mission has become something much larger. We want to help others feel protected, supported, and seen, just like I did.
That’s why our Chemo Care Kit bears the message:
“You matter. We care.”
Because we do.
If You’re on This Journey…
If you or someone you love is going through chemo or radiation, I hope our products can offer the same comfort they gave me. If you have questions—or if you’d like to share your story—I would love to hear from you.
